The earlier version described the site as a playground for learning experiments. Parts were developed with Jekyll, others borrowed from Bootstrap-era structures, and the whole thing was hosted on GitHub Pages.

The old page thanked Derek Sivers for the push to finally build a personal site.

It also credited Desandro for the breathing halftone effect and Allen Tan for homepage inspiration tied to the original portrait treatment.
